Moore and Franklin Engineering

Moore and Franklin is a division of Moore Telephone Corporation, which was incorporated in Ontario primarily for R and D purposes. Derek W. Moore, P.Eng was a consulting engineerwith patents in communications and power systems. Howard Franklin, P.Eng, who joined the company after the retirement of Ken Gentry also has several patents and is a recognised expert in data management. The company was established in 1974 and now owns a new 8000 square foot plant well equipped as described in the technology profile. In the mid-1980's, in association with Moog Music in Buffalo, we developed one of the first featurephones, the 'Operator'. Prior to this we had developed new concepts in diagnostic and autocorrection devices for data processing loops, airflow measurement and control systems, using a form of balanced transistor anemometer; voting systems for councils and conventions; peak-seeking diathermy equipment for use with low dose chemotherapy.
