I-D Foods Corporation

I-D FOODS operates a unique network throughout the country, including offices and warehouses in most major cities and a national trucking system. Key Account Managers, a retail sales force and layout specialists serve more than 10,000 customers all backed up by a state of the art information system.

In 1948 Imported Delicacies (the precursor to I-D) reversed the post war movement of food parcels to Europe by importing European specialties to Canada. Philip Issenman purchased the company from Henry Gamer In 1971.

From 1975 to 1987 Issenman then acquired the specialty food division of Rose & Laflamme, the R.H. Melville Company in Vancouver and Superior Foods in Winnipeg, changing the company’s name to I-D FOODS CORPORATION In 1977. The period between 1988 and 1990 gave birth to branches in Halifax, Ottawa and Quebec City.
