Located in the farming heartland of Ancaster, Ontario, one hour from the U.S. border, our bakery was founded in 1979 by John and Ellie Voortman. It all started with a great idea to supply the local community with preservative-free baked goods in a 2,000 square foot bakery attached to the Voortman’s horse stables.  The bakery grew at such an accelerated pace that the stable was soon shut down to allow the bakery to expand.  And expand we did.

Today, with over 237,000 square feet dedicated to our bakery operation and over 30,000 square feet of onsite freezer space, we boast over 11 production lines and bake over 400 high quality and consistently produced fresh and frozen products for our in-store and food service clients across North America. Our bakery is Kosher certified as well as organic through the OCCP.

We are a first rank high volume and highly efficient bakery that specializes in key product categories.  We are pioneers in proportioned frozen batters (muffins, cookies, scones, tea biscuits), and we are experts in what believe are the best tasting, quality English muffins and crumpets in the marketplace.  In fact, Oakrun Farm Bakery branded English muffins and crumpets are the #1 brand in Ontario. We also specialize in delicious sweet muffins, bagels, angel food cake, traditional and premium loaf and pound cakes and artisan Danish.

We are very proud of the partnerships we have developed over time and how we have progressed as a company.  We continue to invest in our facility, our people and how we go to market. For our Ontario based in-store retail bakery clients we offer direct store delivery for our fresh made baked goods.
