Accessible Media Inc.

Happy New Year! Time certainly flies, and as we welcome 2015 with open arms I’m extremely proud to reflect on all that we have accomplished over the past year.

2014 produced many milestones for AMI including two big firsts: the launch of AMI-télé, our third broadcast channel and the first French language channel with open described video, and the launch of the AMI-player, the first accessible online media player in North America. Both of these initiatives contribute significantly to our mandate of making accessible media for all Canadians and we’re committed to their ongoing development in the coming year.

In 2014 we expanded our original programing line-up to provide a variety of unique and engaging content for our audience. That initiative continues into 2015 with all new episodes of the D.J. Demers Show and AMI Inside. Plus, Christine Ha and Carl Heinrich are back with a brand new season of Four Senses, and Kelly MacDonald’s Blindsighted makes the big move to the small screen. In April, AMI-télé will launch their first original program, a magazine- style show exploring everything from health to personal finances, hosted by popular blind radio personality Luc Fortin. AMI original programming is available online using the AMI-player so you can watch your favourite programs at your convenience.
