The Basket Weavers of PE, officially known as Culture Craft Cooperative, originated in 1983 as a project to create a worker-owned cooperative for unemployed individuals. They specialize in transforming ash trees into timeless baskets, integrating sweet grass, tree bark, and roots into their unique creations. With over 100 local artisans featured, the store offers a range of traditional Island craftsmanship. Visitors can enjoy a museum and interpretive center, attend demonstrations, workshops, and group visits.
